“How do we learn to embrace our vulnerabilities and imperfections so that we can engage in our lives from a place of authenticity and worthiness? How do we cultivate the courage, compassion, and connection that we need to recognize that we are enough – that we are worthy of love, belonging, and joy?”
Brene Brown studies human connection — our ability to empathize, belong, love. In a poignant, funny talk at TEDxHouston, she shares a deep insight from her research, one that sent her on a personal quest to know herself as well as to understand humanity. A talk to share.
The first TED talk by Sir Ken Robinson was among the first TED Talks I had ever seen and made a profound impact on my life. Til this day it’s still one of my absolute favorite talks that I quote parts of to just about every person I meet mainly because I LOVE to DANCE! The talk above is the follow up to that first talk 4years ago and it’s just an absolutely brilliant 20minutes. I’ve watched it twice and feel I have quite a few more viewings in me to digest all the magnificent words of wisdom.
Gently turn your head to the left and stretch your tounge out and over your nose.

We all need a jolt sometimes to get us to that happy place. The other day I accidentally electrocuted myself just a smidge and was reminded of this funny video from years ago. Remember when your feeling exhausted, whether it be mind, body or soul … laughter HELPS A LOT! Explore the web and find what makes you laugh … keep a little stock pile for when you need it. Or, just come back to The Happy Blog … we’re stock piling our own in the LAUGH category!

No worries though, it’s just life and stuff happens. It’s totally O.K. to feel upset at times. Then when you’re ready remember the pissed off kitty cat and I promise you will smile. When you do smile immediately insert the thought “Keep Calm and Carry On”, take a deep breath (sigh) and let it all out for a second. Next, drilled in from my grandma remember “this too shall pass”.
If all else fails be grateful for your crappy day, because you’re alive to have it. I bet if you’re able to read this article on a computer “you may have it worse then some but your better off then most”. That quote came from an enlightened & struggling trucker on the documentary Big Rig. A great movie filled with unlikely insight.
One of my favorite gifts of the internet is IcanHasCheezburger.com where you can force a happy mood by looking at absolutely rediculous pictures and captions of Kitties and Cats.
