A farmer was laboring in his field when his neighbor approached him and asked, “What are you doing, you look exhausted?” The farmer grumbled, “I’m sawing down this old, rotten tree.”
“But you’ve been working for hours. Why don’t you take a break and sharpen your saw?” reasoned the kindly neighbor. To which the farmer retorted, “Can’t you see I don’t have time to stop, I’m way too busy sawing!”
When was the last time you took a break? In our hectic lives, we can get so busy that we forget to stop and take a break. But putting yourself last on your own “to do” list can leave you feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and stressed-out.
The secret to a happier and more productive life is to…
Remember that taking time to rest, relax, and just have fun is not a self-indulgent luxury. It is absolutely necessary to your health and well-being. You’re in no position to take care of anyone or anything if you don’t take care of yourself first.
Make a list of all the pleasurable activities that you enjoy but never seem to have the time to do. Would you love to go for a walk on the beach, sit under a tree and read a book, spend the day at the spa, go to a baseball game or just take a nap?
Start scheduling some time into your daily plans just for YOU. Be sure to have something to look forward to everyday…even if it’s just for 30 minutes. Plan each day to include a little time to rest, relax or just have some fun
One of the essential secrets to a successful and happy life is to take time regularly to recharge and nurture yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. So give yourself a break! How could you be taking better care of yourself right now?
“Be aware of wonder. Live a balanced life-learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work everyday some.”

The first TED talk by Sir Ken Robinson was among the first TED Talks I had ever seen and made a profound impact on my life. Til this day it’s still one of my absolute favorite talks that I quote parts of to just about every person I meet mainly because I LOVE to DANCE! The talk above is the follow up to that first talk 4years ago and it’s just an absolutely brilliant 20minutes. I’ve watched it twice and feel I have quite a few more viewings in me to digest all the magnificent words of wisdom.
I’ve seen the dance videos, this is the first Opera Flash Mob I’ve seen. I LOVE IT! I pray to one day be consumed by or participate in one! Everyone involved and watching is smiling and enjoying life in that moment. To bring exquisite art to interrupt everyday life … may we all be inspired to burst out in spontaneous dance and song. May we also be inspired to go to the Opera!

What a fantastic way to start a day! This video made me smile, get teary eyed, want to dance and travel the world in under 10 minutes. Take 7 minutes and watch the video full screen with sound up! Then remember to live your day and your life with the things that make you smile or get you on the road to smiling days! If you’re having a particular rough go of things, maybe watch it everyday for a while … that is until you make your own!
